Final Words

Like any other skill, it takes time and a lot of trials and errors to master baking.

Both theory and practice are important. You should not concentrate on one and sacrifice the other.  Some of the classes we reviewed focus more on baking essentials, tools, and techniques while others concentrate more on recipes and the practical aspects of baking.

That’s why you should not be afraid of adopting a mixed approach. You can choose one class to learn about baking essential and another one to try out various recipes.

It won’t be long before you can impress your friends, and yourself, by preparing amazing home-made focaccia or by taking the most amazing cookies out of the oven.

If you have any questions on these baking classes and guides or if you want to share your experience and suggestions about learning how to bake, feel free to leave a comment below. And don’t forget to check the other reviews in the cooking category!

  7. Thanks for this excellent post about some great online courses on baking!!!!!  My son and I were talking last night about how lucky we were that all this CoVid stuff was happening now instead of 10 years ago when we did not have the access to online resources that we have now. It is really amazing how much learning is offered for free that gives us something to do instead of being couch potatoes.  I really like baking – so all the courses you listed are right up my alley.  I am an old-timer so I printed out your post so I could put it in my recipe box and be able to refer to it when I want to learn about baking.  I like that there are video lessons available so that we can actually see the baking as it happens. Sometimes from reading a recipe, it is hard to know whether you are doing the right thing or not. Thanks for the great resource!!!!
